39. Sunday, January 12th
Good morning folks, Noah, again for our Stoic Sunday report. My great friend Connor was back in town so he kicked the dust of his skins and joined Jen and I in today's adventure. My morning hikes are great exercise and a fun adventure, but if I am honest, the connections with the people I hike with is my biggest driver.
"When you need encouragement, think of the qualities the people around you have: this one's energy, that one's modesty, another generosity, and so on. Nothing is as encouraging as when virtues are visibly embodied in the people around us, when we're practically showered with them.
It's good to keep this in mind." โ Marcus Aurelius
This passage from Meditations struck a chord with me last night as I gathered my gear and thought about our morning hike. I feel so blessed to have connected with so many amazing people through this sport. I've learned more life lessons on the skin track than in most places in my life. No matter your background, walk of life, or residency, we are all drawn to snow-covered slopes each winter; we commiserate, celebrate, grow, and inspire in these trails, and thank everyone for being a part of it.

Our morning adventures are powered by Alpine Touring equipment, specialty boots, and bindings designed to go uphill and downhill. Everyone has their opinion on what setup is best, super lightweight, techy, and performance. You can come up with all sorts of setups, but ultimately, you want a setup that fits you personally. That's why having a pro walk you through the process is key to any successful setup. The folks at The Boot Pro are who you need; they have the knowledge and understanding to help you find the right setup, from boots and bindings to the right skis, packs, and goggles. They use the gear they sell and can help you make it happen!
