50. Sunday, January 26th

Welcome back to another Stoic Sunday with your uphill host, Noah. It has been a bit since I climbed, and I needed it more than I realized. Life is crazy for all of us, and sometimes, it feels like you just can't catch your breath. This week was one of those weeks. It's during these times that I often forget to take a moment to breathe and collect myself amidst the chaos.
"People try to get away from it allβ to the country, to the beach, to the mountains. You always wish you could too. Which is idiotic: you can get away from it anytime you like.
By going within "
β Marcus Aurelius
When you work in the tourism industry, you grind during the busy season; that is what it is, but you can't always avoid the burnout, the stress, the overwhelm; even when you know it is coming. We can't take a vacation for a few months, and many go weeks and months without a true day off, but we can find ways to decompress, breathe, focus on the task at hand, and enjoy the grind. With a week or so of not uphilling I forgot about how this morning journey is a just as important to my mental state as it is to enjoy the skiing. Whether it is hiking up Okemo in the early morning, skiing until last lap, or enjoying a quiet moment in front of the fire it's amazing what taking a moment to quiet your mind can do.
Pair some introspection with a fresh dusting of snow, great corduroy, and my first run on an alpine setup in a month, and it was a morning that left me recharged and stoked on skiing!

I am not always great at promoting myself, especially when it comes to my own sponsorship for the snow report I helped create, so today i want to thank my team for the hard work that they do to make this small local rental company what it is. If you have ever stayed with us and seen the level of service and quality experience we deliver, I want you to know the vast majority of it is because of my hard-working team. From our dedicated cleaners to our operations staff, they are the ones who make it happen and give me the ability to get out on the hill and write this report.

Today's report is made possible with the support of Open Door Vacation Rentals.
Now, let's get on with the full snow report. β¬οΈ
