58. Wednesday, February 5th
Good morning, readers! 🌤️ This is Abby with your Wednesday snow report. After not skiing for almost a week, I was seriously due to get back out on the snow. My husband, Danny, joined me today and we enjoyed some pretty sweet morning fast laps. 🔥
The snow surface is wicked fast. It's pretty darn cold with summit temps clocking in at 5°, so the snow is squeaky and very carvable. I think it's somewhat of a New England skier's dream day. 😘
I'd like to dedicate today's snow report to my dad, Kyle, who unexpectedly passed away in 2020. 🤍👼 I can't remember if I've ever publicly shared this, but he's been on my mind a lot lately. Losing my dad felt like I lost my ski buddy. It was one of the things we loved to do together besides cooking and sunbathing at the beach (my mom and siblings are too pale to join us). 🧴
As I'm actively working through grief 5 years later, I'm learning to do things that keep his spirit alive rather than push it away. So today, I specifically chose trails that I knew he loved or at least ones I thought he'd love to rip with me now. ⛷️
I know my siblings, Sam and Avery, and my mom, Pam, are probably reading this right now... so hi guys. I'm so proud of us and so grateful for our family unit. ❤️
