Good morning Unofficial Okemo! Today we remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the lasting legacy of his civil rights leadership. Decades later, his words and actions continue to resonate with audiences, and today, we are starting our report by honoring his struggle for racial justice and leaving you with some of his most influential quotes:
"Life's most urgent and persistent question is, 'what are you doing for others?'"
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This holiday falls on DMLK's birthday and became the first federal holiday honoring an African American when it was approved in 1983. Let's move throughout our day with hope, honor, and love. Now, here is today's snow report...
Today, I (Noah), had a morning of solitude on a solo hike. I put in my headphones, turned on my headlamp, and started to jam out to my Discover Weekly playlist from Spotify. It was a dark start, and I didn’t even get a sunrise to enjoy. It was calm and peaceful at the start, but the wind quickly picked up, and it became blustery. The snow set up very well; crisp and soft, but not too soft where it will get skied off immediately. The snowmakers and groomers were present running around and doing their thing. There was quite a bit of activity on Black Out, there might be some bumps and park features coming soon!
Today's quick facts:
🎿 Trail Count: 71
🚡 Lift Count: 20
❄️ Snowmaking Last Night: Tuckered Out, Chief, White Lightning, Wardance, Rolling Thunder, Switchback, Black Out
🌡️ Weather: Cloudy in the mid to high-20s
Pro Tip: Every life, job and dream is significant, is important and has the potential to make a real impact. - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Last night, the snowmakers made snow on Tuckered Out, Chief, White Lightning, Wardance, Rolling Thunder, Switchback, and Black Out. The mountain with greet the day the 72 trails along with all 20 lifts running. Temperatures will start the day in the upper teens and climb into the mid to upper 20s as the day progresses. We are expecting cloudy to partly cloudy skies today, back to our classic VT overcast after yesterday’s bluebird day. It was windier than normal out there, but the Evergreen Express and Sunburst Six were both spinning bright and early.
